“The mission of the Millard Public Schools is to guarantee all
students learn the academic and life skills necessary for personal success and
responsible citizenship in a global society by creating a world-class educational
system characterized by innovative and diverse opportunities designed to challenge
each student.”
Beginning in August of 2003, the District Strategic Planning Committee met to
write a new strategic plan. Eight new strategies were written and a call went
out to volunteers for action teams. Over 200 Millard community members and staff
responded; the teams met over the course of four months to write action plans
for each strategy. In February 2004, the District Committee came together once
more to meet with the facilitators of the action teams. The Committee then discussed
each action plan and came to consensus. The new plan was presented to the Board
of Education and approved on March 1, 2004.
