| Everyone
Has a Story to Tell |
| During
October, students in fifth grade experienced the art of storytelling.
Mrs. Scahill, our Media Specialist, shared a time of storytelling
with each class and explained some of the history of communication
through stories. She also shared how she selects and learns stories
for her storytellling sessions. |
|
| Then
it was the students' turn. Each student chose a story, prepared a
storytelling outline, and began to learn the story. The key to being
prepared is to practice. |
|
|
The
final step in the process was to actually tell the story to an audience.
Fifth graders had an eager group of Kindergarten buddies ready to
listen.
The
fifth graders learned that communication is a process and that presentation
skills are an important part of this process. |
