Virtual Tour

The Technology Center at Aldrich has 24 computers and is used regularly by all students in grades K-5. In the Fall of 2006, the district added wireless capabilities to our building which made our mobile lab of 30 laptops more versatile. Three desktop computers are available in each classroom with a mini-lab available in the Media Center for student research and student activities.

Our Information Specialist works with classroom teachers to integrate Technology and Information Literacy Skills into the grade level curriculum so that there is a natural connection between skills taught in the classroom and the Media/Technology Center.

Students work in the technology center on projects that tie into various areas of the curriculum. Students are using computers as a learning tool. Software that are integrated into the curriculum include:
AppleWorks (word processing, spreadsheet and graphics applications)
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Safari and Firefox (web-based applications)
Gaggle (secure student email accounts)
iLife Suite (including iDVD, iMovie, iPhoto and Garage Band)
KidPix (a graphics-based writing/drawing application)
