Amy O’Connor is in her 7th year teaching kindergarten at Black Elk. Prior to her years at Black Elk, she worked for 18 years in the Omaha Public Schools teaching first and second grade. Amy received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UNO with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. Her Master’s degree is also from UNO in Educational Administration.

Amy was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, but has spent most of her life in Omaha. She is married to Tim, a scenic photographer. Amy has an 18-year-old son, Matthew who attends Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. Her daughter, Rachel, is 15 and is a sophomore at Westside High School. In her free time, Amy enjoys reading, exercising, biking, and spending time with her family and friends.
