A week from Monday we will have our first PTA meeting in the form of a picnic over by the new playground in Cottonwood Park. Bring some snacks and a blanket. There will be no real “meeting,” so this is a great time to get to know the members of the organization that keeps us running strong. Another very important group is our School Improvement Team. This group meets six times a year and serves to monitor our progress on the site plan and make recommendations on pertinent issues such as calendar, CCM I & II, re-teaching, schedules, etc. It is made up of teachers, staff, parents, community members and the principal. If you are interested in being a part if the team, please give me a call! This week I would like to introduce you to first grade teacher and new Cougar Miss Natalie Webber! Miss Webber is from Iowa Falls, IA. She majored in psychology in college and did social work at a retirement community after graduation. It wasn’t too long before she returned to her first love, education. When we met Miss Webber, she was working as a long-term sub in OPS in technology! Miss Webber loves to ride her bike. In fact, she participated in a bike ride across the state of Iowa! She also likes to play with her niece and nephew. She enjoys first grade because of the excitement the children show when they are learning to read. · All schools in the Millard School District now use the same prefix: 715.  So when dialing our school, always remember to dial 715– 1390.  Unfortunately, the Yellow Book incorrectly lists the old prefixes.  Other directories list the correct numbers.

· If you are going to step out of your car, be sure to park in one of our lots.  It really slows things down to have cars parked at the curb.
