Tardy to School
All Millard North High School students are required and expected to be at school on time each and everyday. Teaching and learning must begin promptly at the 8:00 a.m. (8:45 a.m. on Mondays) bell each morning in all classrooms. Students arriving after the start of class can create disruptions to the teacher and other students in a classroom as well as interrupt the instructional process. If a student is not in his or her first scheduled class of the day by the bell, the student is tardy to school. Any student who arrives at school after the class bell must sign-in at the attendance office and obtain an Admit Slip. Emergencies will periodically occur causing a student to be late to school. Consequently, a student is allowed to be tardy to school five times per semester to his or her first scheduled class without disciplinary consequences. Further tardiness to school, however will result in the following disciplinary actions:
6 th tardy – Afternoon or Saturday School
9 th tardy – Two day short term suspension out of school
12 th tardy – Student is placed in failing status and may complete a Class Credit Appeal Form to appeal for credit |
