PTO Sponsored Events and Projects Officer Information for 2008-09 Room Coordinators (Homeroom Parents) The Morton Parent Teacher Organization exists as a non-profit organization to promote a closer relationship between home, school, and community. As parents/guardians of students at J. Sterling Morton Elementary, you are already a member of the PTO. We encourage you to participate in the many committees and activities sponsored by the PTO throughout the year. It is an excellent opportunity to stay involved with your children and their teachers and to meet other parents.
The PTO gladly works to provide some of the extras our students and teachers receive. These extras have, in the past, included additional resources for the Media Center and playground, author visits and Rose Theater field trips for all grade levels, cash for the classroom and student scholarships, Student Directory (Buzz Book), volunteers to fill “Friday Folders”, social events, Family Nights, meals for our teachers during conferences and other teacher appreciation activities, and yearbook. Whether you contribute to the fundraiser, support year long activities, chair an event or join a committee, your involvement is essential to the success of what the PTO does for Morton. Please consider helping in a way that fits your schedule. Morton needs you! PTO-Parents are encouraged to attend meeting to stay informed about school events and happenings.
