Family Resource Center

One of the most active places in the Millard Public Schools is the Family Resource Center! The Center, located at 14607 Echo Hills Drive, is open to all families who live in the school district boundaries.

The Center is a resource for families of young children, infants through 8 years. The Center offers families a toy lending library with a wide variety of toys that assist children in developing the many skills young children seek to master. In addition to toys the Center offers a fine collection of children's books which also may be checked out to be read and reread at home. Parents may browse, select and check out parent resources that cover topics such as toilet training, child development, grief and loss issues, parenting tips and topics, and children with special needs. Other services the Center offers include the use of a die-cut machine, laminating machine, book binder, and computer with on-site use of children's software. Customized toys for children with special needs are also available at the Center.

The Center's family membership fee is $30.00 per year or $15.00 for six months. The Center applies the free and reduced lunch guidelines to memberships. Member families may check out 3 toys, 1 puzzle, 5 children's books, and 1 parenting resource for up to a two-week period. The Center is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the first and third Saturdays of each month from 9 a.m.-noon. The Center is available to families August through June.

Feel free to stop by to visit and see what the Center has to offer your family. Call Linda Burke at the Center, 715-8596, for more information.

See you at the Center!!!!
