Countdown to College
Call-in Show
Get expert advice on college planning, admissions and financial aid during the eighth annual Countdown to College Call-in Program Tuesday, December 11 at 7:00 PM on NET Television. During this one-hour program, college planning experts will answer viewer’ questions on the air. You can submit questions now or the evening of the show by calling 1-800-666-3721 or emailing them to countdown@educationquest.org. You’ll receive an answer on the air or via email. This program is a co-production of EducationQuest Foundation and NET Television.
Clarkson College Certified Nurses Assistant Program
This 76-hour course will provide the training for the non-licensed individual to provide safe, effective, and caring services to patients, residents, and clients in many health care settings. The State of Nebraska requires that students attend all classes and clinical dates in order to receive a certificate of completion. Students finishing the course will receive a certificate of completion from Clarkson College and may qualify for placement on the State of Nebraska Nursing Assistant Registry. A fee of $400 includes textbook and competency testing. Upon successful completion of testing, the student’s name is submitted to the Nebraska State Registry for Certified Nurse Assistants. ELKS HAVE ONE FOR YOU!
The Omaha Elks Lodge has announced one of their scholarship opportunities. The Elks National Foundation – Most Valuable Student is now available. This year the Elks National Foundation will award over $2.2 million in scholarships. Also, if you have a parent or grandparent who is a current member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, there is an additional scholarship known as the Legacy Award. Honors Program
Thinking about attending Colorado State University? Then you may want to consider their Honors Program. Some of the key benefits of the University Honors Program include:

Regents Scholarship – this will be awarded on
a “rolling” basis as you turn in your application.
You must have a 29 ACT and be in the top 25%
of your class. This is full tuition for 135 hours.
This is awarded off the UNO application for
admissions.

Chancellor’s Scholarship - this will be
awarded on a “rolling” basis as you turn in your
application. You must have a 26-28 ACT and
rank in the top 25% of your class. This award
is valued at $1,500 per year and is awarded off
the UNO application for admissions.

Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarship - prospective
students to the Institute of Information Science
and Technology and Engineering will be able to
apply for the prestigious Walter Scott, Jr.
Scholarship online at www.pki.nebraska.edu.

Goodrich Scholarship Program - this program is for students with significant financial need. The program offers financial aid, a specialized curriculum emphasizing the humanities and social sciences via a multicultural perspective, and a comprehensive program of academic support, counseling and other related student services. Stop by the Counseling Center and see Mrs. Harrach to check this one out. Deadline: February 15, 2008.
- Rick Davis and Isaacson Incentive Scholarships – these awards are for talented multicultural students. Please contact the Office of Multicultural Affairs at 554-2248 for more information.
