Planning on attending UNL??? UNL is inviting you to participate in their Residential Learning Communities. These Learning Communities give you the opportunity to reside in the residence halls with other students in your selected major. This living situation can be a great benefit to you when studying and developing a network of resources. Some of the available learning communities are:

INTERESTED IN BUSINESS??
The National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM)- Nebraskais offering the “Excellence in Business Scholarship” valued at $2,000. To be eligible you must be enrolling in a 2-year or 4-year college and majoring in business. Selection is based on academics, activities, leadership and recommendations. Strong consideration will be given to the son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter of a NAPM-Nebraska member. See the rack for an application. Deadline: March 1, 2008.

OFFICE/ADMINISTRATIVE $$
The Ak-Sar-Ben Chapter of International Association of Administrative Professionals is offering scholarship(s) for $500 each. Programs to Prepare You for School in the Fall
Many colleges and universities are beginning to offer programs to help admitted in-coming freshman college students transition from high school to college. Here are two examples of such programs:

  • University of Kansas – At the KU Freshman Summer Institute, students can earn 5 credit hours, experience career counseling, learn to understand the university and how it works, meet other KU students, get to know faculty and administrators. The dates of this event are Sunday, June 15, through Friday, July 11. The deadline to apply is May 1 . Log on to www.advising.ku.edu/fsi for more information.
  • University of Nebraska – Lincoln – At the NU Start program, students will work individually with their respective professors, learn about campus, participate in a variety of social events and prepare for the fall semester. GOING TO A NEBRASKA SCHOOL?
The Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska Foundation is now accepting applications for three Chet Linder Memorial Scholarships each in the amount of $750. At least one scholarship will be awarded to an applicant intending to attend a Nebraska accredited college or university. The award will be based on academics, leadership, school and community involvement and educational goals. Financial need is not a criterion. See the rack for all the details. UNO MULTICULTURAL OPPORTUNITY
The Office of Multicultural Affairs at the University of Nebraska at Omaha is offering theIsaacson Incentive Scholarship. These $1,000 scholarships are awarded on an annual basis. To be eligible you must have a3.0 or higher GPA and have submitted an admissions application by January 15 th. Contact the Office of Multicultural Affairs or see Mrs. Harrach for an application. GOING TO UNL & NEED MORE $$$
The Marymee Family Scholarship Fund is offering a one-time $1,000 scholarship to a Millard South graduate planning to attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
