UNL MATH PLACEMENT EXAM
Seniors who plan to attend UNL should take advantage of a one-time opportunity to take the UNL Math Placement Exam (MPE) here at Millard South on Wednesday, April 2 (UNL designates this date). Interested seniors need to register with Mrs. Grazziano in the Counseling Center. Taking the MPE at MSHS offers seniors the benefit of:
- Taking the MPE in a familiar setting that is conducive to good performance.
- Taking the MPE at a time when most seniors are still studying mathematics.
- Protecting the option of retaking the MPE at New Student Enrollment after reviewing the exam.
NOTE: If you are going to UNL and will be taking a math class you will have to take this Placement Exam in the summer during Freshman Orientation. Total testing time is about 45 minutes. The exam will be held in the Lecture Hall at 8:00 AM. WE NEED TO PROVIDE A COUNT OF HOW MANY TESTS WE NEED BY THURSDAY, MARCH 6 – SO PLEASE SEE MRS. GRAZZIANO NOW!! ONE FOR AN AFRICAN-AMERICAN STUDENT
The Battalion Chief Herbert L. Davis Foundation Inc. will award its annual scholarships. The number of awards and the amounts vary depending on the number of applications. To be eligible you must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and have participated in school, community or church activities. See the rack. Deadline: March 1, 2008.

The Client Resources, Inc. is offering the 2008 CRI Amputee Scholarship Program. This is a $500 award. You must be a graduating senior who is an amputee or the child of an amputee. See the rack. Deadline: March 1, 2008.

UNL “BIG RED ROAD SHOW”
The “Big Red Road Show” is the UNL open house being held in Omaha. The “Road Show” will be held Sunday, February 24, 1:00-4:00 PM at the Qwest Center. It will provide an opportunity to learn more about academic and student life programs at the university. UNL promises you an exciting event that will be fun-filled and informative. The ACACIA Leadership Scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated their ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities and community involvement. To be eligible you must be a male planning to attend Iowa State University. See the rack for an application. Deadline: March 1, 2008.
FOR CHILDREN OF OEA & MAT
The Omaha Public Schools OEA Foundation and the Metro Area Transit/Transport Workers Union are offering scholarships to the sons and daughters of OEA members and sons, daughters or grandchildren of MAT employees or retired employees. If your parents work for either of these organizations, you may be eligible for a number of scholarships. You can pick up the applications in the rack and check with Mrs. Harrach for the scholarships you would be eligible for. Deadline: March 13, 2008.
NAIFA $$$
Ten$500 scholarships are available from the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors – Omaha (NAIFA). To be eligible you must be interested in furthering your education with a preference given to those majoring in marketing/sales, business/management/finance, or actuarial studies. Also, preference will be given to those students planning to attend a Nebraska university, college or community college. You must also have an above-average GPA and demonstrate good character and leadership. Children and/or other dependents of NAIFA-Omaha members are NOT eligible to apply. Deadline: March 14, 2008.
ONE FOR THE GIRLS !
The Millard Lioness Club is offering their annual scholarship valued at $500. To be eligible you must be a female planning to major in the areas of medicine, engineering or business and have a 3.0+ GPA. See the rack. Deadline: March 14, 2008.
ONE FOR CATHOLIC FEMALES
The Omaha Archdiocese Council of Catholic Women is offering a $500 scholarship to a senior female student. To be eligible you must reside or be affiliated with a parish within the Archdiocese of Omaha. See the rack. Deadline: March 3, 2008.
