Safety All visitors and guests must sign in at the office when entering the school, for security reasons. Please use caution and courtesy while dropping off or picking up students. Drive slowly and pull over to the curb to drop off a child. Do not park along the curbs. Do not let students out in the driving lane. Stay safe! Safety patrol members are student volunteers who help children cross safely. Students are expected to follow their direction and use the crosswalks. MyLunchMoney.com MyLunchMoney.com is a secure online prepayment service for student lunch accounts. Make online prepayments and check your child's lunch account balances. To register online, you will need your student ID number(s). Please contact Diane King in the office. Lunch Please make sure your child has adequate funds in his or her lunch account. Parents and guardians are welcome to eat lunch at school. Please call the school office at 715-8360 by 9:30 AM if you plan to purchase a school lunch. Sign in at the office when you arrive. Usually students will have 3 choices for a main dish, A, B, or C. Also, a fruit and vegetable cart is offered with every hot lunch. Breakfast Program Breakfast is available for purchase. Students should line up at the front door and will be let in at approximately 8:30 AM. Breakfast is paid for using the child's school lunch account. Library The library is open every day, and students are welcome to visit every day or as often as they can. Library books may be checked out for up to two weeks. As soon as you are done with a book, bring it back. That will let others enjoy the book and also help keep it from getting lost. If a book is overdue, a notice will be given as a reminder. There are no fines for overdue books. If a book is lost or damaged, there will be a cost to help replace it. Please contact the Information Center at 715-8365 with any questions. Priority Spelling Words Click to view the priority spelling word lists by grade. All students are expected to master these words by the end of each grade. Students should already be able to spell and use the words from previous grades. They will work on their grade level words throughout the school year. 6 Trait Writing Assessment This document lists the six traits of writing that students are taught and assessed on at each grade level. Character Counts Character Counts is a character education program. Each month, Neihardt staff and students have focused on one of the Six Pillars of Character. Responsibility Respect Citizenship Caring Fairness Trustworthiness BIST BIST stands for Behavior Intervention Support Team. The purpose of BIST is to help students learn and use techniques for positive change and create a healthy learning environment for all. This is accomplished through G.R.A.C.E. |
