New Principal Leads the Pack -- Mr. Mollring

 

Hey, Timberwolves! I’m sure many of you have noticed some of the new staff at Russell this year. One of the new staff members is our Principal, Mr. Mollring.

Now I’m sure Mr. Mollring would like to get to know each of us at Russell but that will take some time. So, why don’t we get to know something about him first?

Mr. Mollring was the Principal at the DC West Middle School located in Waterloo Nebraska before coming to Russell.

At home, Mr. Mollring lives with his wife Patty, his four children – JR, Sophie, Macy and Miles. His dog is named Jada.

During his college years, he attended University of Nebraska – Lincoln, University of Nebraska – Kearney and may begin studying soon for his doctorate at University of Nebraska – Omaha.

Some of his hobbies are spending time with his family, playing catch with his kids, running, lifting weights and reading.

His favorite sports are football, baseball and track. His favorite teams are the Huskers, the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Mr. Mollring became our new Principal because he had heard what a great school Russell is.

He would like every student to have a successful school year.

Mrs. Thea Finley Returns to RMS
 

The new teacher on 7C is Mrs. Thea Finley. She teaches science, math and social studies at Russell. She was at Russell last year as a substitute teacher position. Another job she had before coming here was working at Starbucks.

Mrs. Finley went to Millard North High school before going to the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.

She was happy to come here to teach since she knows it is a great school.

Mrs. Finley’s husband is named Spencer and they have a cat named Ragu. When she is not at Russell, she likes traveling and doing crafts. She also likes watching the Huskers play.

Russell and 7C would agree that we are really fortunate to have Mrs. Finley back at our school.

RMS has New Spanish Teacher -- Mrs. Stacy Kester-Pearson

 

Mrs. Stacy Kester-Pearson is the new Spanish teacher at Russell and teaches 7 th and 8 th grades. She is new to Russell Middle School but not to Omaha. She was at Wando High School in Mt Pleasant, South Carolina before coming to Millard. She had also taught at Millard North High school before going to South Carolina and is glad to be a Husker again.

Mrs. Kester-Pearson has a husband, Greg and a daughter names Cambrie. Her husband retired from the air Force and they decided to come back to Omaha.

When she is not working, Mrs. Kester-Pearson likes to read, decorate and sleep. She enjoys volleyball and softball also.

Her college days were at Wayne State college in Nebraska and then at Southern Nazarene College in Oklahoma. After all her travels, Mrs. Kester-Pearson likes it here at Russell and thinks it’s a very welcoming school. We are happy to have her join us too.

Ms Cari Green - Russell's New Resource Teacher
 

Our new Resource teacher is Ms. Cari Green who came to Russell Middle School from Chicago where she had worked in a therapeutic day school. She is involved in all grades here at Russell. She also teaches 8 th grade Success Strategies.

Ms. Green attended Tulane University in New Orleans and is happy to be at Russell this year. She says that she likes the school.

When she is not at school, she likes scrap-booking, hanging out with friends, watching TV or going to movies. The Huskers are her favorite team. Welcome to Russell, Ms. Green.

New Face in the Media Center - Mrs. Erin Dietsch
 

Let's welcome Mrs. Dietsch, our new media specialist!

The last 6 years she was home with her 2 children, Joslyn (8) and Weston (6.)  Mrs.Dietsch is currently attending U.N.O. for her media degree.  When she is not at school, her favorite hobbies are to run, quilt, triathlons, reading (of course) and spending time with her family.  She also coaches her daughter's soccer team.  Mrs. Dietsch came to Russell because the teachers and students are super-friendly and positive.

Welcome To Russell’s New Para Professional - Mrs. Kelly
 

Mrs. Deadrea Kelley as she likes to be called, is new at Russell Middle School and is working this year this year in 6 th grade. She also had worked at the high school in Red Oak, Iowa, before coming to Russell. Mrs. Kelley went to Dana College in Blair Nebraska.

She moved to Omaha with her three children in her family. Their names are Randi, Shane and Grant.  Her hobbies include reading, crocheting and doing workouts. She also cheers on her favorite teams – the Kansas City Chiefs and the Iowa State Cyclones.

She says that she really likes the people she has met at Russell. Mrs. Kelley also states that she is impressed with the students’ work and behavior at Russell.

New Music Teacher is a Husker fan - Ms Stickney

Russell has a new orchestra teacher!

Her name is Ms Stickney and she is very nice.

She attended collage UNL, the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.  She used to work in the St. Joseph Missouri School district. She has two cats.

She likes to go to concerts and read. Her favorite football team is the Huskers. She wanted to come to Russell because she new it was a good school and had a great music program. She is happy to be here.

8th Grade Welcomes New Science Teacher - Mrs. Kaiser
 

Mrs. Kaiser is the new 8th grade science teacher here at Russell Middle School. Before she came to Russell, she was going to school at Grace University of Omaha.

She enjoys playing basketball and volleyball with her two sisters, brother and husband. She also enjoys being outside and gardening.

While she was looking for position at a school she found that Russell “had an opening for an 8th grade science teacher!” She also heard that Russell was a good school.

When we went to interview her she was ready to answer our questions, so I bet she is glad to be in the newspaper. And even better here at Russell Middle School!
