Russell Middle School offers a unique after school program open to all Russell students.

T.A.S.C. has been created to provide a safe place for students to go after school and is an alternative to clubs and sports that are usually held after school. Students involved in activities, such as sports and clubs, may also participate in this program on non-activity days.

TASC consists of Three parts:    Academic services...Social opportunities...Creative activities

The T.A.S.C. staff will consist of a certified staff coordinator, paraprofessionals, individual staff members, and student tutors.

The program will be open every full day of school.

Goals of the TASC program:

  > Create a safe and caring school climate for young people.

  > Provide academic tutoring and mentoring services to enhance student motivation and academic achievement.

  > Provide a balanced approach of academic and curricular enrichment, community service, technology, career development and recreation.

  > Provide students an opportunity to make new friends and build positive peer relationships.

Daily Schedule  

  > 3:00 - 3:15 p.m. Social time to relax and have a snack

  > 3:15 - 4:15 p.m. Academic tutoring and study time

  > 4:15 – 5:00 p.m. Activity time

  > Please have students picked up by 5:15 p.m.
