Everyone scampered restlessly into the classroom. Not only was it Friday, the day before our relaxing weekend, but also because we had a substitute. That can get things wild.

Luckily, we held our excitement while we worked on our two-sided spelling practice sheet. On this, we had to fill in the bubble that held the correct answer.

We pounced into math next, adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers. We reviewed them on the board using mental math. After, we did pages in our math journal including a math box.

We shot, we scored! Gym was next. It included sticks and a puck. That’s right! We did hockey. Everyone tried his or her best to get the puck in the tiny goal. It was pretty hard.

We lingered back to the classroom after our exhausting gym time. We did our spelling test next. Miss Everts expected us to get a 100 percent because we had eleven days to study. After all that work through out the morning, we finally got to sit back and relax by reading our books.

We couldn't get too relaxed though (although, it seemed like some were ready to take a nap.) because we had to get ready for Grammar. We did confusing proper adjectives, such as, American flag.

For some odd reason, next we read a packet on our lungs. We usually just have Science. Did you know that if you breath in smoke every other day, you can die? Pretty scary, isn't it?
The excitement started bubbling when we heard it was time for lunch. The day was only halfway over, so we tried to hold our excitement for a little longer.

We trudged back to the classroom from recess and lunch. Luckily, we got to do our thrilling comics. We are making comic strips on our monster cartoon characters. It was very interesting. The substitute read our teacher read book on a kid who became president.

Our next subject was on light, a little bit of sound, and light. That’s right! Science hopped up next. We read pages on how light bends. That’s called refraction. We reviewed our facts we had learned by answering a tough review sheet.

At the end of the day, everybody scrounged around the filthy floor picking up scraps. Everyone exploded out of the room ready for our long and thrilling weekend. I couldn't wait!

You could feel the excitement in everyone’s minds because it was the day of the Circus. A chilly day too!

We quietly, but quickly, unpacked our bulging bags full of work. Then quickly went into the classroom. I don't know about you but I was very excited for the day ahead!

What is William Joyce's favorite thing to draw? Thinking of that you might know what our morning sheet was about. It was all about William Joyce's scrapbook, which we read about two days before.

Next, Megan and Aric got to sit on the big blue couch while the rest of our class got to sit on the brand new carpet. Megan and Aric were sharing their Roving Reporter reports.

What is your life like? Well, if you were in my class then you could find out what another persons life was like. Today in book groups we read little handbooks. One was "My Life in a Picture Book" and the other was called "If I were an Illustrator". They were both really good books. Miss Everts assigned us to groups. Once we finished our books we had to write a summary after every chapter.

If you were lucky and got that finished in time then you got to work on your Stained Glass artwork. I think the art will turn out really cool from what I can see so far! The artwork is really fun but tomorrow will be even better because we get to paint the rest of it. Art is really cool because this art project fits in with science. It has to do with Transparent and Translucent.

Time to get all of the sparkling energy out of our smart bodies. We went and got our yummy lunches and coats for the bus ride.

We rode the tiring bus for about 30 minutes until we got there with about one hundred buses. There were 3 full lines of Yellow- just Yellow. It gave me a headache! We walked to the circus tent.

We had front row seats. Well, at least we could see better then others! It looked like planets because there were so many lights up things! It looked so cool. You should have seen it! The lights were off most of the time! There was a juggler that was really good! He could juggle between his legs, which most people don't know how to do! Next there were a lot of people who stunted each other on their shoulders that went really high. After about 5 or 6 more acts the lights turned back on and there was a little break! The room went dark and there were even more acts. A little bit later there were tight ropewalkers that were really amazing there was nothing, I mean nothing underneath of them! Just a hard floor. Wow! We were at the Circus for about 2 hours until unfortunately it was time to get moving!

We found our buses and headed back to school. I had the BIGGEST headache. That followed me the whole way through the circus because of all the screaming!

We unloaded the buses and charged for the door to finally get back at school.

How do you spell this? L-i-g-h-t! That is what science was all about light, light, and more light! We did one experiment, which included your activity log, 3 mirrors, a hard book, and a flashlight! The experiment was pretty fun but hard also!

Later in the day was finally assignment notebooks time! We quickly jotted down all of our assignments!

Scrub,Scrub,Scrub! I passed out baby wipes to make our desks squeaky clean! We completed that task. We all sat at our desks and Miss. Everts explained to us that we would have a substitute tomorrow. But we knew that anyway we would still be having fun!

We finished the day with a high five or a hug and took a deep breath because that day was finally over! It almost seemed that the day went by in one breath!

We marched into the building to get ready for another day of school. After we checked in we worked on a spelling sheet. After the two pledges that marked the beginning of school, we took a math test. It was on 6th grade math algebra. The test was to see how well you knew algebra in 6th grade.

After the math test we went to gymsic. In gymsic, we did some physical activities.

After gymsic we went into science. In science we studied light. We learned about the different characteristics of light. We got a review sheet to work on to see how much we remembered about the characteristics of sound.

In art we did a science related art project. We are making stain glass pictures.

Tomorrow, we are going to the Shrine Circus! Since we will be there during lunch, we have to bring a sack lunch, unless you want to get hungry!

Recess was cold and warm. I wanted it to be just cold! Since it’s Wednesday, we had a short day. I can't wait until tomorrow!

That ends my report.

Excitement fluttered around the room like butterflies as I headed into the classroom this morning. Today was the day we would be going to a symphony. Everyone was whispering to each other enthusiastically. But the symphony would come later, and for now we had to concentrate on our Time For Kids magazine.

The clock told us it was 9:00, so we had to scamper as quietly as mimes down to the computer lab to work on Larson's Math. There were lots of different categories, but the one I worked on was Ratios and Proportions. After that, we trudged back into the classroom and practiced our skills on adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers. Try saying that 5 times fast!

The excitement was now at an all time high. We were going on a field trip! Miss Everts was kind enough to let us sit by whom ever we wanted to. When we got to the theater (which, I might add, took about half an hour), we settled into our soft, fuzzy seats and waited for the show to begin. The talented orchestra played several pieces for us, most of which told stories. It was not long before it was over.

Music was still ringing in our ears when we got back to Willowdale. I was starving, and luckily, it was time for lunch. We gobbled down our lunches and headed outside to play on a beautiful day.

Inside again, Miss Everts started Teacher Read. You can probably guess what that is. We are reading The Kid Who Became President. I really like it.

Next, we learned about sound, sound, and some more sound. Yep, you guessed it, science was next. We learned about echoes, ultrasonic sound, and refreshed our memory with some other vocabulary, like frequency, pitch, and vibrations. We also took notes on what we read. After that, we learned how to make a simple instrument with an experiment. We used a rubber band against a ruler to make vibrations and sound.

We still had enough energy to fill out our assignment notebook, pack-up our bags, and shuffle home. By this time, our enthusiasm had melted away from the morning's excitement.

Brrr! What a brisk, frigid morning it was! I knew it was going to be a cold day today because it was very cold this morning (and because I'd watched the news the night before).

This morning in school was... will alright. We had to work on our T.F.K (Time for Kids) quiz about Global Warming.

In math, we worked on Larson's Math dividing whole numbers. We worked on order of operations and division of positive and negative numbers. It was really hard!

In music, we listened to a speaker from the Omaha Symphony talking about what we would hear. It was boring.

Spelling was easy. We had to finish our Show You Know which is a booklet were you write your spelling words and a definition to go with it.

Reading was long because we had to read a story about an author and illustrator's life. We answered questions 1-5 about the story.

After lunch Mrs. Anderson came and talked about two sub-genres of fantasy, which were ghost stories and science fiction.

In science we had a test on sound and light.

Then, we had to full in our assignment notebooks and get it signed.

The day was over and we were exhausted. We got our backpacks, picked up 10 scraps of refuse on the floor, and lined up. That was a long day.

In music we sang a song titled "You've Got a Friend". Then, we drew numbers from a hat, and if you had the matching number, you got to pick a song to sing. That was lots of fun and the time flew by.

After music we all had the song "Fifty Nifty" stuck in our heads. Mrs. Polles said it was time to take our spelling pretest. A few brave souls made small groaning noises. This week we are studying the prefixes: non, in, and un. We were all terribly worried that our test would be the day after tomorrow. Luckily, after the test we all calmed down because we heard that we have ELEVEN WHOLE DAYS to study our words. Usually we only have four days! When we got done copying our new words down, we got lost in our SQUIRT books.

When SQUIRT was over, we quietly got ready for reading. In reading, Mrs. Polles read us a poem. We talked about how the author was creative, and brainstormed some jobs that would require creativity. Then, we learned these vocabulary words: charcoal, encouraged, pastels, illustrating, and series. By now, the class was getting a little restless. We couldn't WAIT until our Valentine’s Day Party.

We all realized that we had just a few more subjects left, and had to stay calm for just a little longer. Next was grammar. First we talked about the articles in the TFK we read that morning. Then, we worked with proper adjectives. We did a sheet together on the overhead. It was pretty easy. An example of a proper adjective would be the word "Chinese". After grammar, all our stomachs were growling, so we willingly got ready for lunch.

After lunch, we were all a little chatty because the excitement inside of us was boiling. In science we made a web about sound. On the diagram or web, we wrote about what sound travels through, and what causes sound. Did you know that sound is always caused by vibrations? We also studied a diagram of an ear to prepare for our test. We studied the parts of the ear.

After science, we played a game to help us learn our WordMaster words. It was a lot of fun. We all got a card with a word and a different definition. The teacher would start out by reading her definition, then the person who had the word would say it and read their definition. The game would keep going like this until someone read the teacher's word's definition. We would time the game and always try to beat our last time.

Finally, it was 2:30. The room EXPLODED with EXCITEMENT! We all got to hand out and collect Valentines. Then, we went to the gym. There, we played six different games that dealt with with Valentine's Day. One of the games was "Pin the Lips on Cupid". There was a game where you had to put a pair of gloves on and try to unwrap and eat a chocolate Kiss. Another game was that we spit into two teams and raced to make a pile of overly large Conversation Hearts. If your pile fell, you had to start all over again. We even had a table where we got to eat some DELICIOUS treats and play C.U.P.I.D. bingo. Three people won at a time when my group was there.

BUZZZZZZ! Goes the bell. We didn't get to finish all the games, but we had TONS of fun anyway. We all went home with BULGING sacks of candy and treats.

Wow! What a great day! You're probably wondering what happened today. Well, first everyone galloped into the tidy classroom. I'm sure it wouldn't stay that way, it never does.

When everyone got to class we got out our editing book. Tick-tock, tick-tock, as the clock staggered on to 9:00, more and more people got finished with it. I'm sure everyone got done with it.

Next it was time for Math. We had a big assignment and little time to do it. We were practicing putting the parenthesis into the correct spot. We had to do a study link and two math journal pages. However, I think only 5 people had to take it home for homework.

What a perfect day for a quiz, don't you think? It was time for our word master test. Good thing everyone studied. They should of studied because we had over a week to complete this task.

Soon, when everyone finished we got zapped into our mind-blowing books. Pretty soon we let our thoughts take over.

Next it was time for lunch. There was mini corndogs, salad, and a chicken patty.

Well, enough of that. Still talking about reading we had to finish our reading assignment if we didn't finish it on Thursday. Now I'm positive that no one had to take this home. There was just too much time to have not gotten it done.

Meanwhile, in science we are studying sound and light. At first we read a couple of pages and then we did an experiment with a tuning fork. Then we got into pairs and did a group experiment with a rubber band, paper clip, and a ruler.

Over half the class was excited for the big weekend, I know, I sure was. As for the others, I just don't know. We piled out of the classroom, stumbling over each other leaving the building for a good 2 days off of school!

As all the red and rosy cheeks of students came in everybody was making a fuss about something. I thought, "What is all the commotion about?" Then I looked up and I noticed that our lights had changed colors. Our lights were now red and blue. On the blackboard it said Do SYK. If you are wondering what SYK is it means Show you Know it is to help us to show that we know our spelling words, we have to look up each word in the dictionary, then you have to make a detailed sentence. For example, the juicy, red apple sat on his desk while waiting to be eaten.

When Miss Everts said, "all even numbers go get all three things" we all knew it was time for math. In our math journal we refreshed our memory to see how much we remembered about parentheses(). Some of the problems looked like this, 7.3-(2.2+1.5)=4.0.

In music we learned about a famous female rock star. Her name is Carol King. She was on February 9,1942 in Brooklyn New York. She has won a lot of #1 hits. Also in music we all played our instruments that we were assigned.

After that we played charades, but not just for fun also to help us study for our word masters quiz tomorrow. Then we went into S.Q.U.I.R.T., which stands for Silent, Quiet, Uninterrupted, Reading, Time. Our classmate Trent generously gave each of us gumballs. Next we all transferred our attention to Alexandra and Maggie.

They shared their Roving Reporter papers. If you were wondering what a Roving Reporter is it is a person who gets to take notes on things we do during the day.

After that we went into Language arts adjectives and articles. Articles are words like these a, an, or the.

Next we went into science. We were learning about Sound and Light. That is the reason we had colored lights this morning to help us learn about sound and light. We didn’t have enough time to finish all our science so we had to go to lunch. When we came back we finished up in science.

Next we got into our new reading groups. Our assignment was to answer the six questions in the back of the book. Then we had 45 min, which we don't get very often, so we better have used it wisely if we didn't Miss. Everts gives us work to do. Beeeeep, uh oh schools out gotta go, see ya later.
It's time to wake up and go to school for an exciting new day. Today our class is kind of different. Instead of doing math first we did a spelling sheet on our weekly spelling words.

In reading we got to use our nice sparkly Harcourt books. We read about African Proverbs. "Ah" it's 9:45 a.m. time to go to gymsic.

In gymsic we played a fun Valentine’s Day game. Now let’s take a break from all this excitement and go into SQUIRT where we can just read. Do you know what a simile is. Well it's like saying something referring to an object. Now it's time for math box referring to the things we've learned over the year.

Finally to get away from all that stress we get to go to lunch. Guess what? I just remembered that today is a short day so we have to do our assignment notebook and we had about a half- an- hour study hall. Now that’s pretty valuable.
Now it's time to pack up and go home

Pink cheeks and ears, cold bodies, and chattering teeth are what I saw this morning when everybody came in from the chilly outside. From what felt like the millionth time, we once again had a spelling sheet on our desk. It focused on the suffixes -eer, -ist, -ion, -or, and -er. One of the questions on it was "This is a person who: Fixes Teeth ___." The answer is dentist if you want to know. That went by pretty quickly like how years go by one-by-one.

"Get out your notebooks only please." Miss Everts said. I bet everybody thought and knew it just had to be Larson’s Math time. Larson’s Math is a math program that can help you learn math in many ways. As that 45 minutes we were down there for went by, we came back to the classroom with the knowledge knowing we were going to have a 24 question fraction paper. One question was 14/15- 2/5 = ____. The answer I got was 8/15 so I hope it is correct. That was all we had for math today. Usually we have more.

Steal the Ball is what we played in gym today. How you play is exactly how you say it. You steal the ball from the other side. We did a lot of stuff with hula-hoops too.

Back in the classroom, we had SQUIRT. SQUIRT is always fun because you sit, relax, and get lost in the adventure your book will take you into. During this time you can also eat your snack if you brought one. Yum!

A+ or B+? We had to grade ourselves on how we think we are doing in school. For Example: I keep myself organized. Grade___. I gave myself this grade because ______. That is what they looked like and there were 7 of them.

Analogy packet: words:: Blogging : type. Yep, you guessed it. We next had to do our last sheet in our Analogy Packets. We do this because it helps us do better at analogies for when we have the big Word Master Word Analogy test. Instead of having words we had pictures to find the meaning and missing picture.

William Shakespeare was what we talked about next. We read a story about him in our Harcourt Books and then today answered questions about him. We also had to write a short definition about some vocabulary words from that story. Some people went to orchestra when we were doing this.

Quickly it became lunchtime. Crispito or Hot Dog is what people had to decide upon. I saw an even number of both. Which would you chose? We had indoor recess because of all the snow that was falling. We got a lot of snow!

Ever heard of a kid becoming president? Well, next we had teacher read and the book we are reading is called The Kid who Became President. We read from pages 71- 102. It is a funny book.

After teacher read, we did something we don't usually do. We shared Miss Everts' and Kelsey's Blogs from a few days ago. We talked about using good similes and using conventions and other editing marks. We also talked about using good voice in our writing.

We then after that did our assignment notebooks by writing down our homework we had to do that night and everything due. That only took about 5 minutes. Then for the remaining time before we had to leave we had Study Hall. People got a lot done because you could just see it.

Once again, as our day was coming to an end, I noticed that we were going to get cold again. But that wasn't so bad. The cold outside felt as if your body was burning in a cold way. As we high-fived Miss Everts I thought wow! I can't wait until tomorrow. Lets just see what Wednesday brings. Tomorrow is just another day.

Yesterday we had to read a T.F.K. I think that is really cool because it tells you what's happening in life, like the Tsunami that happened in Thailand, or who got elected to be president in Iraq.

The next thing we did was math, and it was really fun because all we did was a test. I think everyone did well on it.

After math, we went to music class. In music, Mrs. Noble gave us fake money, but it depends on how good we are.

After music, we had Spelling and we did our Show You Know. We need to improve on our sentences in our Show You Know booklets because we have been writing sentences like we were in kindergarten. Our writing with details went well.

We also had a reading assignment to do. We had to read a little story, but in a group. I bet everyone finished it.

Our next subject was Social Studies. We learned about a colony called Williamsburg.

At the end of the day, we had study hall, where everyone gets as much homework done as possible so you DON'T have homework. After that, the bell rang loud, and I bet that was the best thing for all of the kids' in school to hear.

Wow, what an outstanding day! I had an awesome time! The first thing I did when I walked into the classroom was a worksheet about school back in the old times. It was pretty easy because it only had eight questions. At 9:00 Miss. Everts told the class to put away our things and we soon knew it was time for our next subject.

I bet you can guess what our next subject was if I told you it involved tricky factions, difficult decimals, and challenging story problems. That's right, our next subject was math. The very first thing we did was check math box pg. 214. Then we did pg. 215 together as a class. After that we were assigned pg. 217 in our math journal. We also could do pg. 216 for extra credit.

Yes! We were having our birthday party for our composer of the month in music class. Katie F. brought one of my favorites, strawberry cupcakes and Katie P. brought delicious cookies. After that we went to our assigned instruments and played a beautiful melody together. Miss. Noble said we were really good.

As we walked back to our room Miss. Everts cheerfully told us it was time for our spelling pretest. After we finished writing our new words into our spelling booklets, we had S.Q.U.I.R.T. While we read our books those that missed two or less on our spelling test last week got to golf for candy.

Next was reading! We quickly got out our reading books and turned to the pg. 392. The first words I saw on the page were William Shakespeare so I knew some how the story had to relate to Shakespeare, and I was right. It was a biography on William Shakespeare. It had trillions of cool facts. I loved it!

Lunch! My favorite subject. I couldn't wait to take that first bite. It was hard to choose between cheese pizza and a turkey sub, but after a huge struggle I chose the cheese pizza. We had inside recess because of all that white, sparkly snow. While some kids did their homework, others played fun and educational games.

After recess two very special people came in. One was our counselor. She had us get into our teams. One team was made up of Casey, Nishant, Corinne, and I. Our team was called the Dorky Donkey Spongebob Squad. Once we got into our groups we did a worksheet that helped us make decisions in our groups. I thought it was fun and tricky. After that our librarian came in and helped us work with call numbers on our palm.

Afterwards, we had study hall, got our backpacks and mail, and quietly sat down in our desks until Miss. Everts told us to line up. Then we sadly gave Miss. Everts a high five and left the room because school was over and we had to leave.

Excitement was in the air! You could hear it as the hallways filled with chattering students. You could see it on their smiling faces. You could feel it with the warmth of the sunny day. Today was Friday! Everyone was ready to embark on their fabulous weekend. However, before we could get to the weekend, we knew we had a busy school day ahead of us. We had a lot to learn and do before 3:30, so we got started right away.

To begin the day, students worked on a Time for Kids quiz. They had already read the TFK magazine the day before and now it was time to see if they understood what they had read. They showed they had learned a lot of about the Iraq election. The students also showed a little math knowledge by being able to use percents to answer the question about the top-selling car colors. Did you know that together silver, black, and blue makeup 53.5% of 2005 top-selling car colors? Well, my fifth graders do! Boy, can we learn a lot by reading our TFK.

Although they had learned a lot already, the day hadn't really started. In math, they took a times test to see how fast they could recall their multiplication facts in one minute. After the times test, it was time to use their crisp, new math journals. You see, they just finished their first journal, and now they were on to their second one. They were also beginning a new unit. Today they worked on exponential notation. They learned about what the base number and the exponent number each mean. They also learned how to use a calculator to find the standard notation of exponential notation. Then they got to practice what they had just learned by playing Exponent Ball. Exponent Ball is played just like the Super Bowl. They even played as intense as the professional football players. After their intense game, they completed a page that reviewed adding and subtracting fractions. They also did a mathbox that reviewed common denominators, landmarks, division, percents, and decimals. Wow, they were really busy in math.

After math, they went to gym. In gym, they tried to beat the volleyball record so they could have a party and play against the winning 4th grade class.

When they got back to the classroom after gym, they took their spelling test. The skill that they were working on this week was suffixes, especially -able and -less.

After their spelling test, they stepped back in time. Actually the students didn't really, they just went on a walking tour of Williamsburg for social studies. While on the tour they learned about what life was like during Colonial times. The students saw what it was like in the slave quarters, what colonists did to relax, what the governor's place was like, what school was like for colonial students, and much more. Did you know that colonial girls only went to Dame schools which taught them how to sew?

When the student got back from their walking tour of Williamsburg, they went into SQUIRT. After the long walk, it was nice to be able to sit down, relax with a book, and eat a little snack.

It was almost time for lunch, but before they could think about lunch, they had to complete some visual analogies. The students have been working on different types of word analogies, and this was a really challenge because they had to draw the figure to complete the visual analogies.

Finally, it was lunch time. The excitement of it being Friday could still be felt and heard in the lunchroom.

As the children returned from lunch, the excitement had chanced a little. Excitement had turned to worry. One of our classmates had been hurt at recess. Everyone was very concerned about him, but they knew he was in good hands and they had to try and focus on school work.

Like most days after lunch, teacher read was next. I read about how this kid, Moon, who had just been elected president, had all his classmates come to the White House and Camp David for the weekend. This was really funny, which made us laugh, and that was good, since everyone was still a little worried about our classmate.

Next, they went into reading. In reading, students beamed their Quizzlers that they had created to their classmates. They then took each others quizzes. It was fun taking a quiz written by someone other than a teacher. Boy, can 5th graders write hard quizzes.

Afterwards, they worked their Mosaic Colonial Flags. The students didn't work too long on their art since they aren't due until Wednesday.

The day ended with playing Newsbowl and completeing our assignment notebooks. They had kept their excitement and worry bottled up long enough. It was finally time to exit the classroom and let the excitement out.

Today was filled with joy because some people had a potluck, but other had school lunch like which were cheeseburgers. Those who got to attend the potluck included every fifth grader who didn’t have any late assignments in January. Congrats to all who got to go.

Today started with reading. We worked on different kinds of analogies. We also took a reading quiz. It was easy. Then we had Gymsic. We had to dance, and it was fun! We also had to run and walk around the room.

After Gymsic we had a Word Master quiz. It was hard. Some of us got one hundred percent while others got -2.

After that we had quiet reading time, also known as SQUIRT. It was nice.

Then it was time for art, we're talking about the thirteen colonies so we did a thirteen colony flag. We had to design a new flag for the colonies. We are going to do our flags using Mosaic art form. That’s what I call fun!

Almost at the end of the day, we had math. We're studying for a big test. Some think it'll be easy, and well others, think it'll be quite hard so they are studying hard. We are also checking our math from the following day.

Then came the… POT- LUCK! There was a lot of food and pop. I think some people were very, very full. I would be too, if I were them. You know it was nice outside today so some were playing basketball or something else.

Then it's time to go home, do homework, and be with family. See you tomorrow!

Welcome! Today is Monday. Everybody tried to get in the classroom, but half of them could not get in because the halls were packed just like a Creighton basketball game. Finally everyone got into the classroom and on the chalkboard it said to read our TFK.

Then everyone got that done, and the 6th grade math people headed of to their own math class. In our math class, we did a math review, which covered the whole year and what we did in math for the year so far.

That was the first part of our day. Then we went on to Music and played a game were you picked your favorite instrument and then you play a beat on that instrument. We had to go back to our classroom and took our spelling pre test.

Next we had to go into Squirt, which is silent reading time. We had to read a book called Hattie’s Birthday Party. We did a story map on the story to help us understand the story better.

We went to lunch and recess. At recess, we played football. It was very fun. When we came in from recess we were all freezing because we were so cold. But we still had to work.

Next we had Teacher Read. In teacher read, we are starting a new book called The Kid Who Became President. We have already read The Kid Who Ran for President.

Then we did Unit Studies. In Unit Studies we watched a movie on The 13 original colonies. As we watched the movie, we had to take notes on what like was like in the 13 colonies. We at least had to have ten notes.

After that it was almost time to go home, but we had a little bit of Study Hall time. Then we went to get our backpacks and get our notebooks signed. We had to pick up 10 scraps that were lying on the floor.

That was my day of roving reporter. It was fun to be roving reporter toady. As the bell rang, the hallways became just like another Creighton game.

I walked into the beautiful classroom and said to myself, that this is going to be another great day.

First, I walked into the class, checked in, and sat quietly at my desk. I started working on our first assignment, which was handwriting. That was a bummer for me.

After we did our handwriting we went into math. The first thing we did was take our Unit 6 test. The test was over landmarks like median, mode, range, and minimum. It also covered fractions. Thank goodness every one got an A or a B.

Next, was gym and everybody was so excited. What we did in gym is practice with a real volleyball. That didn't thrill me at all. After we practiced, we played with a beachball. Thank goodness. Everybody was happy too, except for Maggie. She wanted to use a real volleyball to play.

Then, it was spelling. We took a Wordmaster quiz over words 15-20. Then we corrected and practiced the next Wordmaster words, 20- 25. We needed to study them over the weekend for a quiz on Monday. Also we looked over analogy page 10 and 11. After we looked over them, we did pages 12 and 13 on our own.

Next, we had S.Q.U.I.R.T.! Which, of course, is reading to yourself.

Finally, it's lunch! Hurray! We got to pick either corndogs or chief salad. It was delicious. After that we did teacher read. Miss Everts read "The Kid Who Ran For President. "

For reading they worked on typing 20 questions into the memo pad. We had to make these questions based on their literature circle. We will then create a quizzler for their classmates to take on our literature circle books. Some kids also worked on finishing their buddy writing. It was very quiet and they worked very hard.

Then we did social studies. All we did was a quick test over colonies. Finally, we ended the day with Newsbowl.

Later, we packed up to go home. I knew I was ready for another great day.
