Brrrrrrr! What is going on with the weather. Spring is supposed to be nice. It is supposed to be getting warmer! Today it is freezing outside! I was so cold at lunch recess. It is windy and cloudy. The temperature is in the 38 degrees. The real feel is 26!

Today in art, we learned about pointallism.
We looked at a print of Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by George Seurat.
The students each used markers to make designs on construction paper butterflies using the pointallism technique.

My Blue Day by Camden

monday, march 3, 2008 at 11:41:37 AM

On a blue day I am in the ocean.
To celebrate Read Across America, we are reading many Dr. Seuss books. We each took a turn writing about one colored day. The following are some examples.
Today we wrote a story together as a class. We used something (a process) called "pass the pen". Miss Jensen wrote the regular words. All of the words that are underlined are things the students added.

One cold dark October night, I went to the pumkin patch. At the punpkin patch, I went to the haunted house. In the haunted house, I saw a skeleton dancing and playing the guitar. I was surprised! Next, I was so frightened that I ran. I ran for my life! I ran all the way home! At home, I hid under my bed. I hoped that I would never go there again! I will never forget that horrible night at the haunted house!
Today we went to Pooley's Pumpkin Patch. We got to hold baby chicks! We played on a big tire swing. We ate outside! We rode little bikes, scooters, and a little tractor. We got to climb on hay in a barn. We saw baby pigs, goats, ducks, chickens, horses, roosters and ponies. We played in corn in a corn crib. We went through a hay bale maze. We even got to get pumpkins! It was a lot of fun! We love POoley's Pumpkin Patch!
