Writing - Make 7 or more revisions in pen on your "Horrible Day" writing piece in your Writing journal. Revisions include: adding more descriptions, changing the beginning of sentences, changing word choices, change the ending, add transitional words, or other ideas that may make the writing piece more descriptive or interesting.

Editing - Edit sentence #4 with pen then write the sentence correctly in your best cursive handwriting.

Art - After the sketch approval and I have given you the "good" paper, complete your original art piece for Wed.

Spelling - Study for Tuesday's test. Type all your week 5's words in the Spell It program. Include the definition.

Science - Study for tomorrow's Chapter 1 test.

Writing - Write an acrostic poem about the writing trait Voice. Use two or more words per letter. (Acrostic is the type of poem where you write the letters vertically down the left side of the paper and begin the first word of the line of the poem with the letter of the word).

Art - Finish your craypas coloring of the one up close flower and background on the specific paper I gave out.

AM - Write to goals you would like to achieve by the end of the week, write 2 or more ways that will help you achieve those goals and then draw the lines and write the words in your assignment book to complete it for the week.

Science - Read Lesson 4 pages 22-25 then complete both sides of worksheet 7. Also complete activity seed sheet 29/30 using the book and seeds. *Don't forget to spend some time studying for the Chapter 1 test on Friday.

Editing - Edit with pen sentence #1 page "Roberto Clemente," then write it in your best cursive handwriting without mistakes.

Spelling - Study for tomorrow's test and complete both sides of the worksheet.

Writing - Write 3 or more sentences expressing how you feel about 9-11, the terrorist attacks 5 years ago, questions you may have, memories from the attacks 5 years ago, etc. You might even want to draw a picture and write about it.

Editing - Edit with pen sentence #1 from page Dear Mrs. Parks (3 mistakes). Rewrite in pencil.

Spelling - Study for the test tomorrow. Complete both sides of the worksheet.

Social Studies - Copy the notes off the chart board.
Listen to the Constitution Podcast from our webpage and read the book We the Kids.

Other - Continue to study for the science and social studies ELO tests. Get a good night's rest and eat an excellent breakfast.

Art - Finish coloring and drawing your Name art blocks.
Remember 5 nouns per block per letter.

AM - Write 2 goals for the week and how you plan to achieve them underneath.(2 ways) Make the lines and rewrite the categories.

Read the Time for Kids magazine the answer the questions on the worksheet using the magazine to answer them.

Math - Complete pages 29 & 31. Do the first question on 30 for extra credit. Also complete the link about estimation.

Writing - Write a 1/2 page or more to the prompt:

If you didn't, be sure to copy the prefix, suffix, and root word notes from the chart paper.

Science - Study for the ELO test on Monday and Tuesday. Use the Quizzler, notes, and vocabulary.
Make sure to get plenty of rest and a good breakfast too.

Spelling - Take a "test" in the program Spell It on the Palm.(you need to achieve an 85% or above). Be sure to also take time to study all ten of your spelling words other ways too.

Art - Finish tracing each letter of your name on a white block. In the blocks draw and color 5 or more objects (nouns) that beegin with the same letter as the letter of the block. Color these blocks with colored pencils.


Reading - Read 15 minutes or more. (document it on your reading calendar) Complete the two sided worksheet over the story's vocabulary. Study for the Yang test tomorrow.
Classics - Complete page 11.

Math - Study multiplication facts for 10 minutes or more. Complete journal page 26. Go over Unit 1 Math test with mom and/or dad.

Writing - Complete pink sheet #9 over the four types of sentences. On Palm in the Silly Sentence application be sure to have 12 or more nouns.(4 or more Proper)
*Don't forget you can use your notes from Writing journal for help on the worksheet.

Social Studies - Complete the yellow worksheets we did together in class, if you didn't. Study them for the upcoming ELO test/Who Wants to be a Winner contest.
Use Quizzler to study also.

Spelling - Study all ten words for the test on Tuesday. On Palm using the application "Spell It" type in all ten words for week 2, then where it says clue type the definition.

Art - *Complete the Beast project: must have two columns, 9 different colors, 7 or more abstract shapes, 4 overlaps, 10 pictures/shapes that depict the location chosen, no pencil or pen showing and only construction paper, glue and scissors are to be used.
*Noun Name Art- Trace the letter then design a square for each letter in your name. Each square must include pictures of 5 or more nouns that start with that same letter. The background needs to be colored in. We are using colored pencil for this project except to trace the letters.(due Wed.)

Other - Don't forget to study for the Who Wants to be a Winner competition tomorrow, it may be you in the HOT seat!!
Reading - Read 15 minutes or more. (document on the reading calendar)
Write three or more sentences about the story Yang the Third and Her Impossible Family. (include at least one discussion point)
Classics- Read the story Raymond's Run. Write three sentences or more. Use at least one discussion point. Complete pages 8 & 11. Due Thurs.

Math - Study, study, study!! Study for the Unit 1 test tomorrow. Complete both sides of the link.

Writing - Write a 1/2 page or more about your Labor Day weekend. Complete side #4 on the pink worksheet about the types of sentences.

Art - Complete your Beast project by Friday.

Social Studies - Complete the yellow worksheet covering the 3 Branches of government. List their jobs on the top and write in sentences on the bottom portion. In your Units journal be sure to write 5 things you Know about the Constitution and 5 things you Want to Know about the Constitution. (use reference materials if you need to)

Other - Do Science and/or Social Studies ELO Quizzler to get an 85% or above. (100% in Exam mode gets you a prize)

AM - In your Assignment book write 2 goals you want to work hard to achieve this week. Below the two goals write two or more ways you plan on achieving them.
Reading - Read 15 minutes each day of the 3 day weekend. (Remember to document it on your NEW September Reading Calendar!)
Read the Time for Kids magazine then use it to answer the questions on the two-sided worksheet.

Math - Study your math journal, links, and Study guide we did together today for the BIG Unit 1 test on Wednesday.

Science - Review worksheets, vocabulary, and use the Palm's application called Quizzler to study for the upcoming ELO test. (and Who Wants to be a Winner competition!)
The students must also put the Quizzler on Exam mode and take the quiz and achieve an 85% or above on it.

Spelling - Complete typing in the list of all ten of your spelling words with the definitions in the "clue" portion of the Spell It program of the Palm. (Feel free to take a test or two in that program)
Study all 10 words for the test on Tuesday.

AM - Complete the License Plate sheet.

Art - Finish cutting out the shapes and objects for your construction paper Beast collage.

Other - Complete your pencil or pen drawing on printer paper for the Buzz Book cover due this Tuesday!
