The spelling words for this week focus on the "_all" words such as: all, call, fall, wall, ball, tall, on, not, so, of. The B words are: small, football, mall, stall, pinball, stomp, chop, came, day, did.

Besides the pink math homework sheets sent home in the Friday folders, another area to practice can be found at the bottom portion of skill sheets. The Home Connection and Home Activity reinforces the skills we worked on during the week.

Don't forget to have fun with the homework!

Until next time . . .

Our focus for next week's spelling words is the short o sound. The A list words are: hot, hop, pop, pot, dot, not, back, pick, now, want. The B list words are: spot, drop, chop, clock, frost, stomp, cost, they, book, by.

Another fun way to practice spelling words is to form them out of clay or Playdough? Here's a fun recipe!
Mix together 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup salt, 3 tablespoons oil, 1 package unsweetened Kool-aid, and 1 cup boiling water. Stir with heavy spoon. Then knead the mixture until it forms a soft dough. Store in a sealed container.

The students can wear red, white, and blue on Monday for Constitution Day!

This week's focus for spelling is the "_ _ ck" and "k" words. The A list words are: pick, pack, tack, back, sack, sick, big, is, they, walk. The B list words are: kick, snack, track, stick, smack, trick, black, thick, are, big.
Another fun way to study the spelling list is to trace the words in salt or sand spread out in a cookie sheet. Who knows, maybe after the practice, you could bake real cookies on the sheet!

Until next time . . .
