This week's focus is spelling with "ur", "er", and "ir". The "A" list of words are sir, dirt, bird, burn, fur, her, quit, when, work, and grew. The "B" list of words are shirt, sure, curb, twirl, stern, curve, quick, which, old, and one. The "C" list of words are taken from the first grade priority word list. They are all, am, and, at, be, big, book, by, can, did.
While you are driving in the car, quizzing your child is a good way to reinforce skills such as spelling. It's always fun to throw in a challenging word for them to learn as long as it is age appropriate and could be used in every day writing. The best advice is to keep reviewing!
Until next time . . .
