Today started out great. It was the day after winter break. We had to turn in our reading chart over our long break. The message on the board said to write what you did on your vacation.

Next up was math. We had started out with our markerboards. We had to answer a yes or no question. Then we did some graphing and finding landmarks in sets of data. We ended our math time with some Math Boxes and Study Link 6.1.

Then came music. We were all excited because it was our first day back. We didn't know what was stored in for us. We listened to what our music teacher clapped, then we had notes to put together. Then we wrote it down.

When we came back Mr. Vincent had a surprise for us. We were playing a game that lasted for a month almost. It's called Survivor: Fifth Grade. The first tribe to get to 100 points wins. You win points by doing challenges or being fantastic. You could loose points by being horrible.

Right around the corner was W.A.R.T. We had vocabulary to study. Mr. Vincent taught us all about different kinds of landforms, like valleys and plateaus. We need to know these works for a story we will start reading tomorrow. After that we did a worksheet about finding complete and simple subjects. It wasn't graded, but we still had to do it because we're going to be taking a test over it.

Up next was lunch. Everybody was starving. We had milk, pizza, green beans, and peaches.

When Mr. Vincent came back, we played the Weekly News Bowl. That was our Survivor challenge for today. Then came Tribal Council and voting. Each group would write down somebody's name. The person who got the most votes won three points.

Well it's time to end the day. Mr. Vincent reads Harry Potter and the bell rings. Everybody jolts out of the room and grabs their things and goes home.
