Everyone scattered in the room like field mice. First, we did our own Quizzler on our Palms. Everyone was at work, and we had two worksheets to turn in from Friday. First we went straight to math to check math boxes. Then we played First to 21. It was a fun game! Then the second player draws a card. You add the two cards together until you get to twenty-one. Whoever gets to twenty-one first wins. Then we used Skittles for page 185 in our Math Journal. We used the Skittles to learn about sample size. We then had a Study Link to do with Mr. Vincent on the projector. We then moved onto our Math Boxes.
We then went to music and we had a spelling test. It was then time for WART. That means reading and writing time. After WART the tribes did a skit about vocabulary words. We then went to the story “Homesick” and did questions about the reading. Next, we then did the Effective School Survey. This survey showed how well our school is compared to other schools in our district and what the school can do to improve. Following the survey, we moved on to a predicate sheet. As soon as we were done with the predicate sheet, Mr. Vincent did a Quizzler.
It was then time for lunch. We had Crispitos and corn plus yogurt. It was really good! Following lunch, we had a great recess! It was really nice outside. We came back in and studied spelling. We didn't do anything fun, just studied! We moved onto our Survivor time. Mr. Vincent made up Survivor and it is similar to what appears on television. Then Ms. Magstadt came for work on short-term and long-term memory work. Then we started our Weekly News Bowl again. My tribe, Shanaka, won the news bowl. Then the kids who go to study hall left. The rest of the class voted for tribal council. The bell rang and we left for the day.
