As the first bell rang, students didn't know it, but they had a surprise in store. It wasn't very much, but our class had won a plastic flower trophy to proudly display for the most participation in the 3-5 reading charts. The morning message on the board said to have Mr. Vincent "fling" you the Yahoo news on our handhelds.
While some kids went to Math Olympiad, the others stayed in the classroom to review measurement and to look at climates for different parts of the world.
Following math was spelling. Today we took our spelling pretest. Our spelling rule was the suffix ous. I thought the spelling pretest was kind of easy.
Next came W.A.R.T. (Writing and Reading time. My favorite subject). A couple of weeks ago, Mr. Vincent gave a book report where we had to read a book (of course) then type a book review. So today in order to get the book review done, Mr. Vincent gave us about 45 minutes to an hour to read our books or type our book reviews.
And then it was time for my second favorite subject...art. Today we got to work on one of my favorites which is Political Cartoons. Mine was about NASA watching the picture the Mars Rover was showing. One of the pictures had a fat alien on it, and when one of the NASA members saw it, he said, "So much for starting a colony on Mars...all of them are fat too!" Here's the cartoon Mr. Vincent did for an example.
All during art, we had smelled some delicious macaroni and cheese, and at 12:55, we got the chance to go and get some. The couple of people who did not have mac and cheese for lunch, had their own lunch.
Once lunch was finished, everyone headed outside for a cold and blustery recess. Then we headed back inside to finish our political cartoons and to vote on people who should get three point boxes for Survivor.
When the 3:30 bell rang, students made sure their desks were clear, said their goodbyes, and then headed out the door until tomorrow.
