As everyone rushed into the classroom, they read the morning message. It said to study for the math test or play the game Dotty. Dotty is a game on our Palm where we play the computer and try to make a box by tapping on the edges.
A few minutes after we said the Pledge of Allegiance we had math. In math, Mr. Vincent taught us how to use tangrams with an applcation called TanFree. Then he said," When you're done with your math test you can play tangrams either with the little pieces or on your Palm." So then we took our math test. When we finished, we either had the choice of playing Tangrams or doing the pretest. A pretest is a few sheets with questions about the lessons that we will do later in the year. You do everything you can on it, then you turn it in and if you get a lesson correct, later in the year when the class does that lesson, you can go on the computers and play games because you pretested out of the lesson. While we did our test, four visitors came into the class and looked at what we are doing with technology.
After math we went to gym. There, we got to pick our own teams for basketball, but we had to make sure that the teams were fair.
When we came back from gym, we had stations for the visitors to go to like Roving Reporter, Sketchy, Palm Reader, FlingIt, and Math Card. After they left, we did a roving reporter editing. It's where Mr. Vincent took sentences from past roving reporters and we edited them.
Following that, we went to lunch. For lunch today we had tacos, cinnamon bread sticks, cheese with lettuce, and milk. Then we went outside for recess and it was really nice out.
When we came in from recess, we had a worksheet for spelling called "Word Building."
After that we had social studies. We watched a movie about the Declaration of Independence. We also had the Declaration of Independence beamed to us so we could follow along.
Next we had a Survivor challenge, with Aaron, Brad, Chris W, and Tiffany. Aaron won so he got three Survivor boxes. Aaron know a lot about the Revolutionary War!
Then we had teacher read from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. A short summary is that Harry had just seen Mr. Weasley attacked by a snake and now Harry is in Dumbledore's office.
Finally we got to go home! Unknowingly, we marched home for a long, snowy weekend.
