Mr. Vincent's fifth grade students walked into the classroom looking dashing in their fancy apparel. The reason why everyone was so dressed up, is that we were going to the Omaha Symphony! I think everyone was eager to get out of class, but we all had to sit through math first.
In math we did a few pages in our books that were mostly about comparing fractions.
After math, it was time to board the bus. On the way to the Orpheum, all the fifth graders were singing a wide variety of slightly annoying songs. Including: “The Wheels on the Bus,” “99 Bottles of Pop on the Wall,” and “I Know a Song that Gets on Everybody's Nerves.”
When we left the bus and entered the Orpheum Theater. I looked up and was right away amazed at the fantastic architecture! Colossal golden pillars and fancy chandeliers everywhere! It was almost like I was dreaming.
Then we entered the auditorium. I was kind of mad that I wasn't allowed to take a picture of the orchestra, but I managed. The orchestra was really talented, thus, half the fifth graders had fallen asleep half way through the presentation.
Then it was time to board the bus once again, and head back to school. When we got back we marched straight down to the cafeteria where we had a choice of a crispito, or cheese pizza.
In science, Mr. Vincent showed us a video of his old students dissecting cow eyeballs, and a few of us just about lost our lunches we ate about an hour ago. He showed us this because we would be doing so tomorrow.
Well, that’s our day! 3:30 -- I'm outta here!
