Ahhhhhh. Good morning. It's time to go and get ready for the fun and exciting (although sometimes exhausting) school! Yeah. I don't think I have ever said that before. Well it's time to get down to business. Here I will make a deal with you. I will tell you about our day in Mr. Vincent's class if you read my report. Is that a deal? All right, well here it goes.
As I walked into the class room the color of dark green blinded my eyes. Why, are you asking. Well it is Willowdale pride day. On "pride day" every one has to wear their Willowdale shirt or red, white and blue. Most people in our class were wearing their farewell t-shirts that we had gotten two days before. As I looked up at the chalkboard we already had one sad face from yesterday afternoon. Boo hoo hoo! We had to have ready to turn in our work from yesterday and then we played Divisible. Divisible is a program on our Palms where it asks you a question like this: Can 72 be divided by 3? You would either say yes or no. There goes the bell. It's time to say the pledge. “I pledge allegiance.... “
Time to get ready for math. First off we get to take a times test. As we finished up or times test visitors piled in to the room. Everyone received a program called Abacus. Then everyone spilt up into two groups. You could either review fractions or make posters for how Abacus works.
Gym time! Start walking and numbers 13 and 14 come roll the dice. You see we have two dice and whatever numbers they roll we add together and that determines how many laps we run. The numbers were three and a two. Five laps to run comin' right up. Next Mrs. Lindaman split us up into two groups the red team and the blue team. Then we played hockey. Fun, don't you think?
Now it's time for.... Technology Visitors (again). This time we had centers. There was math, science, social studies, writing, etc. Charlie said it was fun to teach people that were older than you. The visitors were teachers from Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri.
Now it's time for WART. In writing we were reading The Phantom Tolbooth. In the story Milo had seen a symphony that didn't give out sound, but it gave out color, and now it was time for him to conduct. It didn't go to well. Next we read our I.R.B.'s (Independent Reading Book). During that time period we had to find one type of figurative language, such as a simile, metaphor, alliteration, personification, and so forth. Uh oh. It looks like we ran out of time because it's time for lunch. I guess we will have to finish up later.
For lunch today we had sack lunch. We either got a ham or turkey sandwich. Yummmmmmy.
After lunch we shared our figurative language. Then for spelling we practiced our spelling words in sentences. Here is an example: Pour me some water from that pitcher. The spelling word from that sentence was pitcher.
For social studies today we filled in some of the vocabulary words in our study guide. Fun, ha ha. We are learning about the effects after the Revolutionary War.
The day is done and it's time to head home. It's been a long day and a fun one too, but I still think it is time to go home and take a rest. I'll see you Monday, bye.
What did you think? Hey thanks for taking the time to read this. Well I guess it's time to get out of business so see you later. Your favorite Roving Reporter, Taylor.
