It’s Monday and the start of the week. But today was the big day because of the Math test about adding, subtracting, and multiplying mixed numbers. We all did really well, but it took us a while to complete. Mr. Vincent worked hard to grade the tests and gave them back to us right away.

During music class we all had some snacks because today was Mussorgsky’s birthday. It was really fun.

After music we all had W.A.R.T. (writing and reading time). We all read " From Toliver's Secret." I think that is a really good book so far. It is about this young girl who sends a letter to General George Washington because her father broke his ankle. The story takes place in 1776 during the American Revolutionary War.

We next sauntered down to the computer lab full of eMacs. We worked on our artist PowerPoint slide shows. It took us until lunchtime. But I think most of us got the research and slide shows all done.

Yum, Yum, lunch time! For lunch we had either pizza rounds or mini corn dogs. I chose the pizza rounds, and they were very good.

Now it's time for spelling. For spelling all we had to do was get a 80% or better on SpellIT on our handhelds and as a “reward” Mr. Vincent gave us the “Write it Right” worksheet.

After Spelling our classmates and I worked in pairs to read a chapter about the Constitution and had to write down the answers on a pink Social Studies sheet We also watched a quick show about the Preamble.

Finally it was time for Mr. Vincent to read aloud Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I think it is a really good book. I am also reading the second book too.

Students rushed home to show their parents their math tests. If we bring back the test signed by a parent, we get extra credit points. Mr. Vincent says that it’s the easiest extra credit he knows. It’s nice to have a Monday and a big test out of the way!
