As we scattered in to the room this morning the message on the chalk board said to play a game on our Palms called Summing. Summing is where you try to make all the numbers disappear from the screen by taking the number it gives you on the side and put it next to a number on the board ending in the same number or is the same number.

Skipping into math we checked Math Boxes 9.4 and 9.5. Today we learned how to find the areas of nonrectangular figures. It was brain racking to some of us and a cinch to others.

Next, jumping into music we had a sub. Today in music all we did was watch a movie about melody. It taught us about melody and what a melody is.

After music we transferred to writing and reading time. In writing and reading time first some of the students split up into groups called Spies and another group called The Way West. Others read their independent reading books silently.

After that we went to the computer lab to finish off our PowerPoints on our artists that we researched on. If we were already done with our PowerPoints we did Larson's Math.

Finally came lunch! A lot of people were very hungry! For lunch our A choice was hotdogs and our B choice was hamburger. We also had pretzels and celery with ranch. Before lunch Jordan said, "I'm so hungry I don't think I'm going to survive!" We also earned extra recess today. In fact all the classes did because today the lunch ladies ran out of hot dogs to serve to the last fifth grade class in line for lunch and we didn't make a big deal out of it. Instead we got hamburgers. We were really nice about it. That's how all the classes earned extra recess!

After our tummies have been filled we leaped into spelling. In spelling we read page 108 out of our spelling books and did 109 for an assignment.

Eventually we jumped into social studies. In social studies we started a new chapter, chapter10. We also got new study guides. We learned what the words ratify, Federalists, Anti-Federalists, and The Federalist.

Finally a little relaxation! We did Read aloud. In read aloud we are still reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. As we can see this is a really long book.

Finally the last minute bell rang and the students trampled out of the classroom longing to go home and take a rest!
