As kids rushed into the classroom this morning to take their seats, they were all ready for another day. We not only came in, but we came in LOUD and started the day off with 5 sad faces! That was even before the second bell rang. We were told to first get ready to turn in our selection test, write it right and our op art. The second thing was probably the most important thing, CLEAN! After we had all of our assignments turned in we started Math. First off for Math we corrected Math Box 10.5. We also were assigned page 364 and page 365. Those pages worked with plotting and graphing. We got out our marker boards and we were assigned Math Boxes 10.6. We also were assigned Study Link 10.6. After we got back from Gym, we had W.A.R.T (Writing and Reading Time). For the first part of W.A.R.T. we read a chart called “Cities a Glance.” It was about all different kinds of cities. After we had read and discussed the chart, we had a worksheet. After that, it was time to work on our interactive stories. They are stories that we write on our handhelds. You pick a story and you write abut it. The only difference is that you have six different endings. It is a fun activity to do. After a great lunch and a 15 minute recess, we all came inside to prepare for our spelling test. We all took it, except for Taylor, because she just got back from a cruise! Our rule this week was -sign. I'm sure somebody forgot the rule though.Now comes Science! We are now studying about planets. There are nine planets in the solar system. Can you name all of them? We have been making a spreadsheet on our handhelds. If you put in your weight, it will tell you what you would weigh on each planet. Then Mr. Vincent beamed us a program called Space Weight. That also told us about planets. Then we watched a Bill Nye movie. He told us about planets also. We had to write down the thing we thought was the coolest from the Bill Nye movie. I thought it was cool that Pluto travels around the sun once every 248 years! Cool huh? Time for read aloud. The book we are reading is called Crash. It's about a boy who is really mean to a boy named Web. He is not very nice to him at all. We are in the 11th chapter already! After we heard the announcements and we rushed out the door for another long day tomorrow! |
