The Daily Planet

Today as we scampered to our desks, we were excited about rocket launches that we were going to do today. When we looked up on the ELMO screen, we found that Mr. Vincent had on the screen "Brain Busters". Most of us only finished 2 of them. Brain Busters are riddles.

Next we had Math, today we had a unit 10 test. I would expect most of us to do exceptionally well on this test. After the test we had a choice of reading or doing some sort of Math activity. I chose to read my book Deltora Quest. When we were finished with the activity, we checked the Math Boxes 10.10.

After Math comes Gym. We played Freeze Tag with scarves. When we finished playing Freeze Tag, we took another test for Juggling with the scarves. "Man I really stink!" said Chris B.

Finally the juggling was over and we headed back to the room for IRB, (independent reading book). This lasts for 15 minutes. When the time was up Mr. Vincent handed out TFK, (Time for Kids). This was cool because they included a design for the new Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban video game. After that Mrs. Anderson came in and showed us books from the Classic genre. She showed us Little Men and Little Women. No, they are not about Leprechauns.

Mrs. Anderson finished and then it was time to go outside for a Playground Demonstration for what we shouldn't do on the new playground equipment. Coach Kelley informed us on all the rules and things we should and shouldn't do. I particularly liked the Geodome.

Finally it was time for lunch. Today’s choice was between fish sandwich or ham and cheese sandwich. Thank goodness I bring a cold lunch. Most people chose ham and cheese.

We get 15 minutes to eat and then we go outside for 15 minutes of recess time. I didn't get to use the new playground equipment because the lines were way too long.

After recess we had Spelling and we did a worksheet called Crosswords. For me the worksheet was pretty easy.

When we were finished with spelling we went outside to launch our paper based rockets. We made the rockets from note cards and film canisters. The highest rocket I saw was David's and it went straight over the brick wall. There were only a few duds which just leaked and didn't launch and those people weren't very satisfied with their rocket. Then we went in to watch a video for science about space. Mr. Vincent and the rest of the class thought the sound wasn't very good so we just watched Liberty Kids for the educational value.

This brought us to the end of the day. We got out our mail from our mailboxes, loaded our bags and scampered out the door for our weekend. This is my last time reporting, signing off, Zach.
