The students rushed into the classroom and were ready to start the day. As we arrived into the classroom the 5th graders became aware that the student council members were playing "Who Wants To Be a Winner." Once they finished with their game the student council members left and we proceeded to math.

In math the class patiently waited for the visitors while practicing multiplication times test. When our visitors, a few teachers from Millard West, arrived, we stopped our multiplication times test and got show them everything we know about handheld computers. After about 10 minutes the visitor left and we took our multiplication times test. We began to make our own pie graphs. It was really exciting to see everyone’s favorite after school snack.

In music the students watched Beethoven Upstairs.

WART! All of the fifth graders got into their book groups. The students always enjoy reading the books together. The reason they get excited is because we used to have to read alone but now we get to read together. Also, all of the students got to choose the book that they wanted to read before winter break. Then the student got really fired up because we began to put our abbreviations quiz into a program called "Quizzler". A Quizzler is a quiz to help us study for our tests.

Lunch! For lunch we had turkey and gravy. I saw a lot more hot lunches than cold today.

Spelling! In spelling we had our pretest. Mr. Vincent made us a deal because he was the only one checking our pretests today. The deal was if we get all of our words right then we get a ticket. A ticket lets us sit on the couch in the classroom for 15 minutes. The students thought that was a great deal!

Science! We had a sheet called "Burning It Up". Mr. Vincent helped us with part of the worksheet. The other part we did in groups. Today in science Brad, a boy in our class, asked an intelligent question. The question was, "What are mashed potatoes made from?” The 5th graders and Mr. Vincent thought that were really funny!

Dismissal! All of the students were in a hurry to leave school! They got their coats and bags and left really quickly.
