Ring! The school doors flew open and the sound of children echoed through the halls of Willowdale. The kids chattered and stomped up to the racks to hang up their heavy coats and scurried to the classroom to begin the day.
Then they collided into their seats and they read the giant blackboard. Then students took out their handhelds and did a science quiz using the program Quizzler (on the Palm) and after that they took out their reading book and read. Secondly there was math. In math we got to see WillowCam’s broadcast (it is our schools news) after that visitors came to see how we use our Palms. Then we worked on a math review work sheet (some kids thought it was hard).
Next was P.E. for P.E. We played an enjoyable game of knock out then we played Santa sleigh and Charlie thought it was fun and so did I. In fact, Mr. Vincent had two student pull him with a jump rope as he sailed around the gym on a scooter.
The next thing was WART (which stands for writing and reading time). In WART we still had the visitors. We showed the visitors everything we know how to do on handhelds. After the visitors we did an editing activity.
Then it was time for lunch. For lunch we had taco casserole.
In science we had a science lesson five worksheet about renewable energy resources. Renewable resources include biomass, solar energy, hydroelectric energy, and the wind. Finally was 2:00 so Mr. Vincent said, “Time for the concert,” so the kids lined up and went to the concert. I think the concert was great. The concert included orchestra, band, and choir. When we came back it was time to leave. So the kids got there materials together and left for their homeward journey.
