All the kids dragged their backpacks into the hall and shoved them on the hooks. They all rushed into the classroom of Mr. Vincent's fifth grade. Most of the students read the board (others were talking gibberish). The board told us to have ready our homework to turn in. Then it told us to make a greeting card to someone you love. Everyone was busy working on those cards drawing snowmen, Christmas trees, and etc.

After the greeting cards, we started math. For math we corrected Math Boxes 5.12. Mr. Vincent told us,
"Take out a red correcting pen." After we checked that, we played the Rotation Game where you had these little yellow cards. You had to flip them over to see what the math question was. Mr. Vincent gives you 40 seconds to complete that question. After the timer goes off (the timer is has 40 seconds on it), you have to move to the next number. The questions help you with your math skills. After we did all of the questions, Mr. Vincent showed us the answers.

Then we went to gym. The gym teacher told us that we had to find a partner. Once found, she told us that one person had to sit down and the other stands. The one sitting gets a scooter and sits on it. The one standing gets a jump rope, puts it around his or her waist, then gives it to the one sitting down on the scooter. The person standing pulls you all across the floor. I thought that was kind of fun. Then she told us to put the scooters away and the jump ropes away and line up on the two yellow lines for a game. The game was How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It's were there would be four Grinches, two Santas, and the rest would be innocent bystanders. The innocent bystanders would run around the gym running from the Grinch. If tagged, Santa would toss you a ball that you have to catch. If you don't catch it after being tagged, you're still immobilized. If you do catch it, you're free to run around again.

After that we had WART. WART stands for writing and reading time. For WART we did our book groups. Some of us had different books. We should be around the climax point of the book.

After WART we went to the Computer Lab to make a greeting card on Apple Works. Everyone was typing hard for a tiny greeting card. But that hard work paid off. Those cards were great!

After the Computer Lab, we went to have lunch. Mr. Vincent told us to save our milk cartons for Wednesday. For lunch we had hot dogs. When we went to throw our lunch stuff away, I could see a pile of half eaten hot dogs in the trash.

Once we came back in from outside, some of the kids did the Word Masters Challenge. Lots of kids were working hard as they could trying to get some extra credit.

After the Word Masters Challenge it was time for our spelling test. The spelling rule was words that end with -ance and -ence.

In science we did Who Wants to be a Winner. Hellen was the one who went up to the hot seat. The questions where all about science and energy. She came back with nothing because she didn't know what a hypothesis was.

Then it was teacher read. Mr. Vincent played a tape that had Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Hagrid tried to explain to Harry where he has been.

Finally it was time to go. That's what happened today. I hope you liked it.
