Ahhh, what a great morning! Wake up, get dressed, have delicious eggs and pancakes for breakfast, go to school and get a 100% on my math test. What a great way to live! Oh... wait a minute, I'm dreaming again. Taylor, wake up now! Hurry! Your alarm clock didn't go off! You're going to be late for school!

Have you ever had that happen to you? I know I have, way too many times. Anyways, how would you like it if I took you not into my life at home, but into one day in my school? If you do, or even if you just want to see what our day is like, just keep on reading.

As I walked through the door, the sound of echoing voices said, “Only one more day until Christmas vacation.”

After Mr. Vincent said, "I hear sound,” everyone suddenly became silent. The reason for that is that on the morning message it said, "Study silently: No sound = Gingerbread house movie!" That meant that we were going to watch the gingerbread house movie that Mr. Vincent made the day before if we were quiet. We were studying, well, some of us were studying for our math test that was later in the morning. As we were saying the pledge of allegiance, and the Kid of Character Pledge, some people caught out of the corner of their eye, Mrs. Noble walking down the hallway. She came in so politely and told my classmates and me to bring pencils to music class later on that day. For the next part of the day’s opening, because we were quiet, Mr. Vincent let us watch the ginger bread house video. I personally liked everyone’s house, building, or mansion.

The next, and biggest part of everyone’s tiring morning, was our final math test of the semester. The test was three pages long, and had a total of 26 problems. The average score was a 92%. Mr. Vincent said that that was awesome. While some people finished up their math test, others were taking a pretest for Unit 6: Adding and Subtracting Fractions.

Later on we went to music (with our pencils), we had a quiz. We also sung Christmas carols such as, "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree," "The 12 Days of Christmas," and so on.
In our next subject, we had a lot to do. The first thing we did was in our Writers Express books. We learned what Mr. Vincent would like us to do for our book reports. We also met with our book groups, and we discussed what we liked and didn't like about the book.

For lunch today we had hamburgers and French fries. The only thing I don't like about going outside, is that it is so darn cold out! Brrrrrr, I'm getting the chills now!

Next, we met with our first grade buddies to decorate cookies. The cookies were in shapes of mittens. For the toppings, or decorations for our cookies, were the candies and treats we had leftover from our gingerbread houses. After everyone was finished decorating, we had a contest for the best decorated cookies. Then we got to eat the delicious cookies.

In science class, we played a game called “Game Show, with your host Mr. Vincent.” Each person on the winning team of the game got three tickets each and a candy bracelet. This time, the orange team won with a total score of 1800 points.

As Mr. Vincent called out table groups to get their book bags out of the hallway, everyone packed up to leave for home. The only homework we had were to study for our science test tomorrow. What an easy night that will be. Ha ha.

Now, let me ask you a question. Now that you have seen what our day is like if you were to come into our classroom, do you think you would like it? I hope you would. I don't think we're that boring. Anyways, I'll catch up to you next time.
