Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
by J.K. Rowling

The name of the book that I read is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. Have you ever seen the movie before? Have you ever read the book? If not, you're in for quite a thrill.

At the beginning of the book Harry's parents had been killed by a dark wizard. As an orphan boy, he was sent to live with his aunt, uncle, and cousin that were very mean to him. When he was 12 he received an invitation from a magical owl to a school named Hogwarts. Harry had just figured out that he was a wizard. When he went to the exciting Hogwarts. Harry met two friends named Hermione and Ron. Harry learned to improve his studies and control his wizardry.

What I liked about the book was that J.K. Rowling used lots of descriptive words. She also had great fluency in her writing. When I read the book, J.K. Rowling had written everything so the reader could understand the book. Also, I could see what she was talking about in my imagination. I felt like I was right there with Harry and his friends.

The theme of the book is never giving up. What I mean about not giving up is that Harry and his friends would never give up until they found the answer. For example, when he went down to get the sorcerer's stone, he went on and never gave up no matter how much he was scared. Harry not only found adventure but also his destiny. I love all of J.K. Rowling's books and I can't wait until J.K Rowling comes out with the sixth book!
