Ghost Cave
by Barbara Steiner

Our class has been reading special books called IRBs (Independent Reading Books). My book was Ghost Cave. Barbara Steiner wrote it.

This book is about a kid named Marc. He has two other friends, Hermie and Eddie, plus a rival named Mooney. Marc also has a dog named Bluedog. The three friends were in the forest when Bluedog ran off. So they went to this place that leads to a cave and found Bluedog there. The kids found an Indian grave in the cave and found an Indian boy's body, but if you want to find out the ending, you'll have to read this book yourself.

The part I liked the best was when they found the Indian boy's grave. That kind of scared me. I mean, it's not everyday you find a grave. So I thought that part was good. I hope you like it. I'd give this book a four out of five planets.

I think the author's message is: adventures are a mix of opportunity, responsibility, and courage. I think that because you'll have to be pretty responsible if you're going to explore because, if you're not and a friend gets stuck, you probably won't have a good plan to help him. You'll also have many opportunities and choices, and you have to choose the best and safest one or something dangerous might happen. And if you're not courageous, you might not be very dependable. You might give up if something bad happens. That's all I have to say about Ghost Cave.
