Matilda
by Rolad Dahl

What would it be like to have parents who didn't care about you at all and a teacher who thought of you as the best? Just read this book and you'll find out. Matilda is the main character in this book and at home gets treated like nothing. The school principal treats her worse.

The book is about a girl named Matilda who has powers to move things with her eyes. She has tough times at school and at home but when she figures out her powers no more miss nice girl. She deals with her troubles with her wonderful powers. The principal is very mean and has no sense in being a teacher. Let’s just say Matilda kicks her out!

What I liked about the book was Matilda never gave up. Her parents were mean to her but she always found away to trick them. Another thing I liked about Matilda was she used her powers in a good way. The person I liked the most in this book was Miss. Honey or Matilda. Matilda for her cleverness and Miss. Honey for her kindness.

I think the theme or message in this book is to never give up. Keep trying no matter how hard it is. It also says treat your child right and never take advantage of someone. You should never be mean to them unless they need someone to be mean to them. The one last thing is always give them a book if they want a book because you never know what might happen!
