The book Hoot is by Carl Haiggsen. The book is an action packed book with tons of humor in it. I would definitely read this if I was you.
The book is about Roy gets into fights with the school bully Dana Marthason. He finds this kid who has been living in an ice cream truck all his life. The kid commits crimes and gets away with all of them. Curly tries to figure out who it is but he falls asleep by the time he approaches.
I like this book because some of the characters relate to me. Also, I like the action that the book has in it. Next, I like it because it has almost more humor that I can handle, (and I can take a ton). Additionally, I like some of the crimes they do because they are creative.
I think the theme is to always listen to an elder or parent. Also, the message is to do what your heart really desires to do. I would recommend this book to anyone who like Realistic fiction books or fantasy.
