Lizzie at Last
by Claudia Mills

Lizzie at Last by Claudia Mills is a great book. It teaches an important lesson about finding yourself. Throughout this book Lizzie is finding herself, but she doesn't know it.

Lizzie starts out to be an unpopular, old fashioned, poetry-writing kind of girl. As Lizzie starts seventh grade, she decides that she isn't the Lizzie she wants to be. She starts getting tips from a popular girl named Marcia that has never liked her before. Lizzie starts becoming popular and getting attention from a boy who never knew she existed. She starts realizing that this isn't the life for her, but she keeps playing along with it.

I really liked this book because I could totally relate to it and I bet anyone else my age could, too. I also liked it because it had short chapters so you could read it all at one time. This book does not have as many details as some, so it isn't that hard to follow. Another reason I liked it is because it had excellent word choices.

The theme of this book was not to let other people make decisions for you, but to be your own person. As you read this book and watch Lizzie find herself, it makes you want to do the same. This book shows this lesson in an amazing way. It was so much fun to read and you will like it, too.
