The author of this book is Roald Dahl. The title of this book is Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. I liked reading this adventure book and now I will tell you why.
This book is about the Bucket Family and their adventure with Mr. Willy Wonka. Mr. Wonka takes them on a trip to space in the glass elevator. The elevator gets stuck in space because Mr. Wonka didn't push the green button fast enought to get back to Earth. They floated in space until they attached to the Space Hotel USA spaceship. The pilots thought the Bucket family and Mr. Wonka were Martians when they boarded the ship. The Bucket Family was on the shop when they encountered a Vermicious Knid. They got back to the elevator to get away from the mean Vermicious Knid. The elevator was chased by a knid, but they got away by going back into Earth's atmosphere. The knid doesn't get passes the Earth's atmosphere because the knid will burn up from the sun.
What like about the book is the problem when the Bucket Family gets stuck in space for a long time. I like how the elevator can get out of the Earth's atmosphere without burning up. That is my favorite part in the book. Another part I liked is when Mr. Wonka gave grandma Georgia a pill called vita-Wonka. It made her younger by 100 years for each pill. She took 3 pills because she was 325 years old.
The theme of this book was that you can't go to space and back with no mistakes. You can never change your age and be the same. After the Bucket Family got home, they were relieved that they were not going to space again. Charlie would be going on a lot more adventures with The Great Glass Elevator.
