You're Dead, David Borelli
by Susan M. Brown

I am reading You're Dead, David Borelli. The authors name is Susan M. Brown. I would recommend this book to any one because I loved reading this book, and I think you would too.

This book is about a boy named David and his best friend Rags. Over night David goes from being a rich kid in a private school to a foster child in a tough neighborhood. His mother is dead, and his father is accused of being a fraud. When David's dad is arrested he is sentenced to 5-10 years in prison! David’s long lost grandpa takes him in.

What I like most about the book is that it kept you guessing. At the end of each page I tried to figure out what would happen on the next page. Another part I liked about the book is that David never knew is grandpa. The first time his grandpa knew he was in trouble he took him in with out any questions asked. Another part I liked about the book was the relationship between David and Rags. The author made you believe that they were going to kill each other, but at the end they became best friends.

What I think the message is that you always have to stick together with your family. David's mom had a diary that he waited to read until he went to the foster home. In the diary she said families should always stick together. I think the other thing the author is also trying to say is that you should always believe in yourself no matter what anyone says. For example, if someone calls you a name, you don't have to believe them.
