What
Means
to Me

Hey, do you know about peer pressure? Well I do, there are three different kinds of peer pressure. There are teasing, friendly, and heavy and those are the three I am going to talk to you about.
The first one I am going to talk to you about is teasing peer pressure. Teasing peer pressure is when somebody embarrasses me if I don’t do what they want. For example, “You’re chicken if you don’t try this cigarette.”The next one I am going to talk to you about is friendly peer pressure. Friendly peer pressure is when somebody says, "Hey do you want to try this stuff?" I would say NO. Example: "Hey Julie want to try this beer?" If I say NO, the person would just walk away.
Now last, but not least, the third one is heavy peer pressure. Heavy peer pressure is when somebody says if you don't try this, I won't be your friend any more. Example: "Hey Julie, want to try this marijuana?" "No!" “If you don't, I'll tell everybody you' re a chicken or I won't be your friend anymore."
So you see DARE has taught me how to recognize and say NO to peer pressure. Peer pressure can hurt me emotionally and nobody really likes it.
