WhatDAREMeans to Me
by Matt

When I first began DARE, I was exited because I wanted to learn how to be drug free. I learned about tobacco, ways to say no, marijuana, and peer pressure. Did you know thousands of people die each year from drugs? Deputy Rieder made learning about drugs fun, funny, and exciting.

The consequences with people if I take tobacco you will get in trouble from my family, and police. I will get sick and my friends would dislike my drug use. I could get cancers and illnesses like lung cancer and get hairy tongue and there is a guy who had many sicknesses because he had chewing tobacco. He was a good guy he had many surgeries so his face is disfigured. He had been using chewing tobacco.

There are many chemicals in tobacco like rat poison, broken glass, and tar. It makes people smell very bad and I would get yellow teeth and sometimes people can get hairy tongue and that would be really bad for anyone. I can have teeth to fall out. If I take tobacco, I could die. 400,000 people die each year from smoking and that is a lot.

I should not chew tobacco or smoke. I could get really hurt or die and maybe get so sick that you have to go to the hospital and have surgery that would hurt. You will be happier, healthier and I will be alive.
