What
Means
to Me

Did you know that over 400,000 people die each year from smoking tobacco? That's only one of a lot of facts that I learned in DARE from Deputy Rieder. DARE didn't sound very fun at first, but now that I'm doing it I know what harmful effects it has on my body and what will happen if I take the drugs. I learned that there are really bad consequences of taking drugs; I could even go to jail!
I learned in DARE that there are many health consequences if I take drugs. Did you know that over 400,000 people die each year from smoking? Also smoking is the #1 cause of lung cancer? Tobacco also has over 200 known poisons in it, and that's only the known poisons. Think of all the other poisons that we don't know of. Smoking can also cause smelly breath and yellow teeth.
There are also parent and law consequences. If I were to sell to someone under the age of 18, it's against the law and I'd be arrested. I don't know about everyone else, but I would not like to go to jail. Also, if I ever smoked under the age of 18, my parents would probably ground me for life. My friends would probably not want to be around me if I smoked because the smoke would smell bad.
Health consequences and parent and law consequences are some of the things that can happen to me if I take drugs. I bet there would be a lot less people smoking tobacco if they knew what the consequences are. Try not to make that 400,000 over 400,001. I sure wouldn't want to. Those are some reasons that I would not like to smoke tobacco.
