Jaques Cartier is famous for discovering St. Lawence River, which is in New York. He claimed it for France. He also traded with the Indians. He brought back gold, diamonds, and fools gold from the Native Americans. One of his hobbies was every spring to go fishing with his dad. He was born in St. Malo France.
