Handheld Computers

Willowdale students use handheld computers for learning! There's a class set of palmOne Tungsten Es for kindergarten through fourth grades to use. Also, each and every fifth grader has his or her own handheld to use for the year. This means that fifth graders have a computer with them all day long!

Willowdale uses Palm™ handheld computers. Currently students use Palm Es, E2s and Palm m515s. These handhelds run Palm OS 4 and have color screens and rechargeable batteries.

Since handhelds are small computers, they can run a variety of software applications and are used for many learning activities. Here are some examples of what students have done using handheld computers:
