Community Invited to Participate in Superintendent Search

A letter from the Mrs. Linda Poole, President, Millard Public Schools Board of Education

Dear Millard Families,

As you are aware, Dr. Sutfin will be retiring at the end of this school year. We are grateful for his service to our community, and we appreciate him giving us as much notice as possible. We are now starting the process to find the best leader for our District. If you joined us at the Board meeting this past Monday, either in person or on zoom, you saw that we retained a search firm to conduct a national search and facilitate the application process so the Board can hire a new superintendent.

Our next step is to gather community input. I ask that you please take a moment to fill out this survey with thirty-one qualities desired in the new superintendent. Your input will assist us in deciding which qualities are most important in our next leader. The data we gather will help with the job posting and candidate screening.

Millard Public Schools 31 Qualities Survey

The Board and the search firm will seek community input in multiple ways, including this survey. Additionally, a public forum with the search firm will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Millard South High School Auditorium. Throughout the search, you are invited to follow along with the process. Finalists will be interviewed by the Board of Education in an open public session on a date yet to be determined.

Hiring a superintendent is one of the most important decisions a Board of Education makes. Thank you for being part of it by submitting your thoughts on the survey and attending the community input session if you are available.

Linda Poole, President
