Governor Pete Ricketts and popular fitness figure Jake (Body by Jake) Steinfeld, Chairman of the National Foundation for Governors' Fitness Councils (NFGFC), announced that Millard North Middle School was one of three Nebraska schools selected to win the $100K DON’T QUIT! Fitness Centers.
The goal of the campaign is to encourage students to be physically active and maintain healthy lifestyle choices. Millard North Middle represented true spirit and enthusiasm towards the goal of maintaining a healthy and fit school environment through a variety of programs.
Governor Pete Ricketts said, “I’m proud of every school in Nebraska that participated in the DON’T QUIT! Campaign, Congratulations to the winning schools.” The fitness centers will take a few months to build, with a ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for this fall.
The fitness center is expected to open this fall.
