Holidays which are required by law to be observed by public school districts in Nebraska will be included in the District’s curriculum guides and will identify the District staff who are responsible for the instruction of students.
The holidays which the District is required by law to observe are George W. Norris Day on January 5, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on January 15, Presidents’ Day (President Lincoln’s and President Washington’s birthdays) on the third Monday in February, Flag Day on June 14, Memorial Day on the last Monday in May, and Veterans’ Day on November 11.
Appropriate patriotic exercises suitable to the occasion shall be held in the District’s schools under the direction of the Superintendent or the Superintendent’s designee on such holidays, or on the school day preceding or following such holiday if the District’s schools are not in session on such holiday.
